1973.
One sherd Delft only find so far.
1973. Excavation for sewer by City Engineers prior to ring-road construction.
7.6m (5ft) deep hole still in gravel at bottom (no sign of chalk).
Fill mainly of foundations and modern demolition/backfilling.
1974. Sewer trench within fill of City Ditch.
Post medieval pottery including Westerwald stoneware.
North Italian marbled bowl and Chinese porcelain.
Horse skull and upper jaw.
