Soon after Munich 1938. Found well below top soil at depth of approximately 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) during excavation for air raid shelter in rear garden.
Lava quern, complete, but cut down from a layer example. Diameter 186 mm, thickness 55-57mm. One face very smooth, other rough, with faint tooling around circumference. In rough face two tapering holes (14mm wide and 16mm deep) set 10mm from edge but not opposite each other. In edge part of what may have been a larger hole.
