Summary

A watching brief during groundworks in 1999 noted a single medieval inhumation of an adult male, possibly from the graveyard of the now demolished Church of St Cuthbert. Post medieval housing had removed all other archaeological deposits. The top of a concrete wall observed in the garden area behind the property was identified as the possible remains of a World War Two air raid shelter.
