Summary

In 1997 prehistoric flints artefacts were found during fieldwalking along the line of the Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline. Metal detecting along the pipeline also collected a Victroria halfpenny and an 18th century shoe buckle.

January-April 1997. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline (Field/Location RDX 8.3).
Two prehistoric scrapers were recovered during fieldwalking along with flakes, retouched flakes, and pot boilers. These were broadly scatterd over 360m. Metal detecting yielded a Victoria halfpenny, an 18th century shoe buckle, and an undated copper alloy fragment.
