Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting here in advance of the Bacton to Great Yarmouth gas pipeline recovered one prehistoric burnt flint. In 1999 excavation revealed two pits containing burnt flint and charcoal of possible prehistoric date.

This area was selected for further, more detailed fieldwalking but cropping regimes prevented access.

Excavation on route of Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline (Site 3N).
Excavation in the extreme southwest of the field revealed 2 small pits of possible prehistoric date containing burnt flint and charcoal.
