Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in 1997 in advance of the construction of the Bacton to Great Yarmouth gas pipeline recovered flints and pot boilers as well as a medieval ferrule or chape from a scabbard.

January-April 1997. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline (Field/location RDX 23.1 (on plan) or 23.2 (in report)).
Seven prehistoric flint flakes and a pot boiler were recovered as well as a 15th century ferrule or chape fragment.
