Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting at this location between 1997 and 2024 has recovered prehistoric flints; a medieval ceramic spindle whorl; medieval coins and a number of other, Early Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Early Saxon brooch fragments; a Late Saxon lead weight; a medieval buckle, censer suspension unit and lead spindle whorl or weight; a medieval/post-medieval purse bar and a post-medieval crotal bell.

January-April 1997. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline (Field/Location RDX 28.1).
Five Prehistoric flints including a scraper and flakes were recovered along with a 12th to 13th century buckle plate and a medieval lead weight or spindle whorl.
