Summary

A 17th century timber framed barn, with clay lump inserted in the early 19th century. In 2010 a programme of historic building recording was undertaken ahead of proposals to convert part of the barn into a residential dwelling.

17th century timber framed barn, with clay lump and wattle and daub infill, weather boarded 6 bays with cart doors on bay 5 now blocked by pentise.
Straight cross bracing.
Clay lump and timber partition bay 2/3.
3 tier roof with braced tiles, perhaps 18th century replacement, one tie inscribed 'C BRIGHTON'.

The clay lump must be a post 1800 insertion.
Straight braces tend to be 18th rather than 17th century.
