Summary

The barn is a 17th- and 18th-century timber-framed and weatherboarded building on a brick plinth. It is one of two Grade II listed barns at Carldecote Farm (the other being NHER 66394, to the south-east).

July 1988. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"Five-stead threshing barn. 17th and 18th century. Timber framed and weatherboarded on brick plinth. Roof of corrugated asbestos. Plinth laid in English bond. Two full-height double timber doors to north. Opposing south doors concealed behind outshuts. Gabled roof.
Interior: Close studding. Tie beams on knuckle braces. Roof late 18th century. Principals, two tiers taper-tenoned butt purlins and collars. Some studs of walls replaced 20th century."

Another barn at this location (to the north-east of Caldecott Farmhouse) was listed Grade II in 1992. This is now recorded separately as NHER 66394.
