Summary

This interesting 19th century red brick foundry was established in 1809. It was modified throughout its use and was reopened in 1946 and continued to work until 1995. The main building has iron framed windows and a row of tall chimney pots over ventilators along the crest of the slate roof. The complex also contains other later buildings. A survey identified a stock shed for bar metal, a cupola, the foundry building, a machine shop, a fitting shop, a store, an engine room and a pattern shop.

North Norfolk Iron Works. Established at this site in 1809. It closed in 1995. Comprises two storey office block, two storey stores building, stock shed for bar metal, cupola, the foundry building, machine shop, fitting shop, fettling shop, store, engine room and pattern shop.

Site is noted in several directories including White's (S4) and Kelly's (S5) between 1836 and 1929. The business went bankrupt around 1932 but was re-opened in 1946, closing again in 1995.
