Summary

In 1998 Network Archaeology conducted a geophysical survey that revealed a number of undated features and pits. At the same time fieldwalking recovered Neolithic flint artefacts and prehistoric burnt flint (pot boilers), along with medieval and post medieval pottery. Further knapped and fire-cracked flint, associated with possible late Neolithic or Bronze Age hearths and a possible well were recorded during an excavation and watching brief in 1999. A possible Romano-British farmstead was also recorded in the area at the same time and has been numbered separately (NHER 58088).
