A small group of World War Two military structures, mainly nissen huts, and an air raid shelter are visible on aerial photographs to south of Elderbush Lane, Catfield (S2). The site is centred on TG 3876 2030.

The group of structures in 1946 has the appearance of an ancillary part of the military accommodation camp for Ludham airfield (NHER 49336), located to the immediate south. The probable entrance to the air raid shelter is visible as a small slot cut into the ground to the immediate south of a elongated area of slightly raised and disturbed ground.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 March 2007.
