Summary

These houses were formerly known as Brandon House and Chatteris House. They are a pair of houses now converted to offices, and date to the late 18th century. These three-storey buildings are of red brick with a roof of red and black glazed pantiles.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Pair of houses, now offices. Late 18th century, converted to offices [in] mid 20th century. Red brick; roof of mixed red and black-glazed pantiles. Exterior: three storeys in seven-window range, centre three window bays broken forward. Two symmetrically-placed doorways...Platbands at first and second floors…Dentil eaves cornice. Gabled roof. Interior: ground-floor front room to south with moulded cornices and lugged window surrounds. North ground-floor room with modillion cornice. Open-string staircase with two turned balusters per tread, scrolled tread ends, baluster newels and ramped handrail."

This is an interesting example of two houses designed to appear as one. The bricks have horizontal skintlings, ie post 1770-1780.
