Summary

A former savings bank, built in 1859 in Tudor Gothic style, rare in the town at the time. It has a two bay façade, the right hand bay set back to contain a four centred doorway. Inside is a huge stone fireplace, and the building is of great importance as the first savings bank to continue the external design to the interior, rather than having a standard layout. It became a YMCA in 1891 and then, in 1990, a club.
