Full Description
September 1997. Metal detecting. [1].
Medieval lozenge shaped gilt copper alloy mount. 2 integral rivets on revserse. Decorated with a large central lozenge-shaped perforation, and a border of relief decoration obscured by corrosion. POL NCM.
Nearly circular buckle frame with rectangular plate. Frame has central bar around which the plate is folded, with no slot for pin: instead there is a pin constriction on back edge of frame. Therefore strap would dangle from revealing cut out terminal, linear decoration of punchmarks and 3 rivet holes, are with copper alloy rivet. POL NCM.
