NHER 34985 (Find Spot record) - Multi-period finds

1998. Metal detecting.
Found in eastern half of field at [1]:
Roman? Heavy strap end, cast in one piece. Rectangular split end has one iron and one copper alloy rivet, but it is undecorated. Beyond this are two circular perforations, then a transverse ridge, then three circular perforations in a row, then a thick transverse terminal ridge which projects beyond the sides of the strap-end. This has ribbed decoration along it. We now have four of these types of strap ends (Burnham market, Costessey, East Walton and this one). They look Roman, but no exact parallel has been found. (S1).
