Full Description
January 1998. Metal detecting. [1].
Medieval hilt plate from a knife. Cast bronze plate with on one side a tapering hole for the whittle tang and on the other a longer slot for the blade.
Medieval rectangular strap slide (for holding down the free end of a belt). External integral rivet to one side.
13th/14th century.
