Map

December 1997. Metal detecting.
Late medieval/early post medieval unusal bronze 'clip', long snout, roughly parallel, with more flared section above the centre which has three short longitudinal mouldings flanked by two transverse ones. 'Snout' is narrower than the main body, with a transverse moulding near the tip. The metal has been folded round to form a clip and the back part has been flattened. File marks on all edges suggest late medieval/early post medieval date.
Unknown function - A. Rogerson (NLA) suggests free standing clip used to decorate edges of bows/boxes etc.
See Polaroid (S1). Description also in file [1].
K. Sussams (NCM), 17 May 1999.
