Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting between 1998 and 2024 recovered Iron Age, Early Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds; undated copper alloy metalworking debris; Late Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and a range of other, Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Bronze Age copper alloy awl fragment; a Middle Bronze Age copper alloy chisel; Late Iron Age/Roman brooches and a terret; Roman brooches, a hair pin, terret ring, probable stylus and vessel escutcheon in the shape of the head of Jupiter; a Middle/Late Saxon strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval coin weight, furniture mount, harness mount, harness pendant, rotary casket key, book clasp and lead seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval candle holder and post-medieval mounts, a knife end stop and lead die stamp or printing block.
