Map

February to March 1999. Metal detecting.
Mystery object. A very slightly convex bronze disc 30m top to bottom and 32mm side to side; about 2mm thick. Central perforation 9mm across; around this are two concentric grooves. At the top is a triangular perforation, point downwards; part of the top of this is broken away. The triangle is also surrounded by a double groove. The surviving portion of the disk above the triangle is thickened and ends in a scrolled up projection. Opposite the triangle is a radial band of very neat ladder pattern. There are similar bands to either side of the disk. The grooves retain traces of gilding.
Perhaps a Roman harness pendant?
