Summary

Metal detecting between 1997 and 1998 recovered a range of objects, including a Roman brooch, a pair of Early Saxon tweezers, a Middle Saxon brooch, an unusual Late Saxon disc brooch, a medieval buckle and a post medieval book fitting.

Parallel found on the Hilton Hotel site in Mainz suggests the above ?Late Saxon disc brooch found in 1997 dated to somewhere between about 800 and the mid 11th century.
