Summary

A prehistoric flint flake which has been retouched for use as a knife, and a Late Saxon or early medieval copper alloy and iron weight, found by a metal detectorist.

December 1998. Stray find.
Undatable Prehistoric flint flake with small areas of retouch suggesting modifications e.g. for use as a knife.
Identified by P. A. Robins (NCM) January 1999.

March 1999. Metal detecting.
Late Saxon or medieval copper alloy coated iron weight of truncated sphere type. Now a mass of corroded iron one disc end of copper alloy cane be seen, with a border of punched dots around groups of more dots (4 can be seen in one place) and engraved straight lines. Weighs 156.22g. 10th to 12th century.
