Map

November to December 1997. Metal detecting.
Late medieval copper alloy seal matrix, with 6 sided conical handle rising to a collared, pierced trefoil knop with traces of iron corrosion. On one facet there is a dot to help orientate the seal design. The circular die is cut with a central triangle, each side made up of a profile face with beard and hat. This design is enclosed in a triangle with a little point in the centre of each side. Outside is a legend, which appears to say ELEGO TEGO FREG but is very poorly cut 'Read. conceal, break'.
