November 1998. Metal detecting. Found near church.
Late Saxon incomplete openwork strap end, attachment end missing (old break). The design is very worn, but basically consists of a central stalk with branching fonds, ending in a knop. No obvious difference between the two faces of the object, back and front. 10th to 11th century. (S1). Identified by H.M. Geake (NCM), December 1998.
