Full Description
Listed as 43 The Street; on Ordnance Survey map as Morston Manor; now called Manor House. Age of name unknown.
(S1) states: late 16th/early 17th century. Flint and brick, black pantiles, two storeys; three bay lobby entrance section at east end with moulded brick plinth and two 19th century single storey bay windows with door between behind brick porch. Two first floor sashes, blocked 17th century window between them. Central stack. West extension of same proportions; door, 19th century sash window on each floor. Two first floor blocked windows. Gablestack. Overall wooden modillion cornice circa 1800.
In addition, photographs and drawings (S2) submitted with planning application 2000 show that in the west extension the ground floor window also cuts an older opening; there is a tiny blocked first floor window by the gable stack; and between the other two blocked windows is a brick feature which decends below their bases.
