Full Description

Medieval shield shaped cast bronze horse harness pendant with suspension loop in centre of upper edge. The front surface bears the arms of England prior to 1340 (gules three lions passant gardent in pale or). The red enamel remains but the gilding is lost. The arms remained in use on some objects after 1340 but the piece still dated to the 14th century.
