Summary

Aerial photographs show the cropmarks of several field boundaries and the parish boundary here. It is likely that the majority of these boundaries date to the post medieval period, although there are some cropmarks of linear ditches that do not correlate with the boundaries shown on historic maps, and these may relate to earlier boundaries, although it is also possible that they performed a drainage function in the post medieval period.

Aerial photographs (S1-S2) show the cropmarks of several field boundaries and the Roudham/Wretham parish boundary here. It is likely that the majority of these boundaries date to the post medieval period, and since they appear on historic maps they have not been mapped, although there are some cropmarks of linear ditches that do not correlate with the boundaries shown on historic maps, and these have been mapped as they may relate to earlier boundaries, although since they appear to be aligned in a similar way to the historic maps it is likely that they date to the medieval to post medieval period. It is also possible that they performed a drainage function in the post medieval period, since there are other drainage ditches visible in the vicinity (NHER 57436).
