Full Description
St James' Hollow.
Originally known as Vials Pit. Vast marl and gravel pit containing a limekiln, opened at unknown date before mid 19th century. Not officially part of Mousehold Heath Park, it was turned into a childrens playground in 1929 but has since reverted to a wild state. No visible remains of limekiln.
