Map

August 2000. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
The earliest evidence at the site dates from the late post-medieval period, probably the 19th century and takes the form of four beam-slots of a probable timber-framed building building. This structure was aligned east-west and would have fronted onto Clenchwarton Road. Later, brick structures were constructed on the same alignment. Activity to the rear of these buildings was sparse and comprised a 19th century pig burial and a possible drainage ditch.
