Summary

A watching brief carried out by the Norfolk Archaeological Unit in 2001 revealed a cobbled surface that is probably part of a post medieval quay, and a floor surface. Although the features could not be dated with any certainty, they are probably post medieval.

Monitoring of new water main trench.
Cobbled surface and possible floor recorded. These features may indicate the presence of buildings on what is now the High Street. The cobbled surfae is probably part of an earlier quay.
