Summary

Excavations in 2000 and 2001 revealed part of the Late Saxon defensive ditch, set at right-angles to King Street. The ditch was backfilled in the early medieval period. Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery fragments were among the objects recovered.

Late Saxon defensible ditch at right angles to King Street, backfilled in early medieval period.
