Full Description
July-August 1998. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site. Four trenches excavated, one of which was at this location (Trench 4). See NHER 831 for details of Trenches 1-3.

Three areas were excavated, one of which (Area 3) was at this location. See NHER 831 for details of Areas 1 and 2.
Late Saxon defensible ditch at right angles to King Street, backfilled in early medieval period.
