Summary

Metal detectorists have found medieval and post medieval metal objects. They include coins, a medieval French jetton and a late 13th century French coin brooch. The coin brooch features a coin of Philip IV of France (1285 to 1314).

Before 10 October 2000. Metal detecting.
Coin brooch: Gros (groat) Tournois of Philip IV of France (1285-1314) (S1). Obverse is gilded and on reverse silver fittings, a loop through which passes a tapering strip and a broken (incomplete) strip. All are soldered to the coin. Weighing 4.59g. Coin dated to 1285 to 1290.
Submitted for consideration as Treasure, declared Treasure 31 May 2001 and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2002.116)

Eight medieval and two post medieval coins found in general area of coin brooch and in fields around, but some may be from further afield within the block of land bounded by A149 (to north), NHER 1338 (to south), 1289 (to west) and 1299 (to east).
