Map

June to July 2000. Metal detecting.
Medieval/early post medieval two fragments of what may be the same cast copper alloy cooking vessel. One is a rim fragment with slightly sooted, slightly rough exterior and smoothly polished interior. This fragment has two small copper alloy rivets surviving, which must once have held a repair patch; they appear to be made of thin rolled sheet. The other fragment is part of the body of the vessel. It is much more worn, but again has a slightly sooted exterior. 13th to 16th century.
Identified by H. Geake (NCM).
K. Hinds (NLA), 2 November 2000.
