Summary

A late 19th century two-storey red brick corner shop featuring a plastered shopfront with 20th century glazing and door. In 1954 the building was used as offices, but sometime later it was adjoined to 17 Palace Street (NHER 26364) and converted into bedsit units. In 2001 a survey was carried out of both the interior and the exterior prior to refurbishment and the demolition of a small 20th century rear extension.

February 1954. Listed.
This building was listed as a late 19th century 2-storey red brick shop, in use as an office in 1954. The corner building features a plastered shopfront with 20th century glazing and door, sash windows, bracket cornice, and a hipped roof with pantiles.

January 2001. Building Survey.
Exterior survey prior to the demolition of 20th century additions to the building confirmed that it is a two-storey, late 19th century building. At the northern end of the Pigg Lane elevation, a small 20th century extension was recorded. This extension was demolished as part of the redevelopment of the area at Bussey's Garage in 2001 (NHER 26442). Sometime during the 20th century this building was adjoined to 17 Palace Street (NHER 26364) and converted into bedsit units.
