Full Description
19 July 1996. NLA air photography.
Cropmark of sub-rectangular enclosure to the immediate east of Manor Farm.
The enclosure has an internal rectilinear feature in its northeast quadrant.
Also to the northeast is an external co-joined linear ditch.
S. Massey (NLA), 26 April 2001.
April 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of probable post medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs (S2-S3). The features were previously suggested to have related to an undated sub-rectangular enclosure (see above). Although this interpretation cannot be ruled out, the features most likely relate to post medieval field boundaries. The mapped features in the west of the area (centred at approximately TF 9036 1695) relate to post medieval field boundaries recorded on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25" map (S4) and visible as extant field boundaries on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (S1).
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 25 April 2024.
