Summary
A medieval ampulla with a scallop-shell ornament on one side, and a lily pot with a letter 'R' on the other, found during metal detecting. The lily pot motif refers to the shrine at Walsingham.

Full Description
May/June 2001. Metal detecting.
Medieval copper alloy ampulla, handles missing, with scallop-shell ornament on one side, and on the other the letter R in a circle beneath the Annunciation lily-pot. The lily-pot refers to the Holy House at Walsingham, and the R to its founder, Richelde. Compare with example in (S1).
