Full Description
25 June 1996. NLA aerial photography.
Cropmarks are visible in the field to the east of Manor Farm.
These take the form of a polygonal/sub-circular enclosure with ringditch/hut circle to be seen inside it, two curving linear features and a possible further two ring ditches (both incomplete). It seems likely that the enclosure with ring ditch/hut circle are of Iron Age date. They are located at aproximately NGR 1401 2760 and the enclosure is about 25m in diameter. The dates of the other features are less certain/unknown, there is nothing to directly suggest that they are contemporary with the enclosure etc., although this is not impossible.

The cropmarks of a ring ditch (see above), possibly relating to an Iron Age curvilinear enclosure, can be seen on aerial photographs (S2-S3). The feature consists of a ring ditch with a possible entrance on the features northwest side. The feature may relate to an Iron Age curvilinear enclosure, although, it is also possible that the feature may have related to the site of a former Bronze Age round barrow. A pit feature can be seen in the centre of the ring ditch however, it is possible that this feature may be natural in origin. The previously suggested (see above) hut circle, curved linear features and further ring ditches may relate to geological cropmarks seen across the area on the consulted aerial photographs.
