Probable medieval to post medieval field boundaries (see above) are visible as earthworks and later as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The features consist of banks and ditches which most likely relate to medieval to post medieval field boundaries. It is also possible that some of the earthwork ditches may have related to post medieval drainage ditches. The majority of the features are visible as earthworks on S1 with the boundary ditch at TF 9191 0903 visible as a cropmark on S3. The features appear to be levelled overtime with some of the earthworks visible as cropmarks on more recent (2006) aerial photographs (S5). The cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries mapped on the readily available historic maps (such as S6 and S7) are also visible as cropmarks on the aerial photographs. As these features are recorded in good detail on the historic maps, they have not been mapped as part of this project.
