NHER 36342 (Monument record) - Cropmark of an undated square enclosure

Cropmarks can clearly be seen of a rectilinear/square enclosure.
The ditch showing as a cropmark is quite wide, so it is possible that it was some form of moated enclosure (?) (although it seems to large for an actual moat).
In addition to this, cropmarks of two linear features are visible (though quite faint).

Distinct cropmarks of what initially appears to be three sides of a square enclosure. However, there is no sign of the eastern side. There are less distinct linear features on alignment to the north and south sides, further to the east.
Not visible on 1946 RAF photography, or diagnostic enough to be classed as a cursus (and also too regular and angled at corners) so site remains open to further interpretation.

Cropmarks of an incomplete square enclosure of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The central grid reference for this cropmark has been amended from TG 3350 1913 to TG 3329 1917. The enclosure is slightly trapezoidal in plan with a 3.5m wide ditch and external dimensions of 94m by 88m. Only part of the eastern side of the enclosure is visible as a cropmark. The date and function of this enclosure is unknown and it does not have the appearance of a medieval moat. Other linear ditch cropmarks in the vicinity (NHER 45275) have a similar west to east and north to south alignment and could be related to it.
