Brick kiln. Discovered when a tractor collapsed into it.
Visited by E. Rose (NLA) with father of finder. Apparently a Suffolk kiln, of which approximately two square metres had been revealed; apparently the tops of two firing passages and the floor of the kiln, the remainder deliberately demolished.
Both red and yellow bricks, those near the heat source with green vitrification. Bricks of 19th century type.
Field was meadow until recent years, now ploughed.
Not marked on maps of 1797, 1828, 1836 or 1906 and no aerial photograph evidence.
