Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting between 2001 and 2023 recovered Roman and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; Iron Age (Roman Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins (including a small medieval hoard of two Venetian soldini); a post-medieval token and a range of other, Roman and Middle/Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch and handle from knife or folding razor; a potentially Roman silver finger ring; a Middle/Late Saxon strap end; medieval buckles, an annular brooch, purse-bar mount, thimble and unfinished lead seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval handle attachment loop from copper alloy vessel and iron key and post-medieval sword-belt mounts, a signet ring, possible furniture mount, ball-headed pin, copper alloy apothecary weight, lead steelyard weight and lead cloth seal.
