May 2001. Stray Find:
Found by [1] whilst walking:
1 Mesolithic/Neolithic incomplete flaked flint axe.
Butt end and main part of body of a long, narrow, prallel sided axe (or adze), snapped transveresely with hinged fracture. Lenticular section but with a pronounced crest in parts on the more convex face. Patinated a greyish white, with some buff staining on the less convex face. Neatly flaked with slightly undulating edges. Dimension: >115 x 46 x 19mm. Probably Neolithic, but might be Mesolithic.
