NHER 36459 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Cropmarks of possible boundary ditches and enclosures of an uncertain date

This record is for the linear ditch features of an uncertain date. The ring ditch previously recorded as part of this record has now been recorded separately as NHER 65628.

Cropmark site consisting of a ring ditch, at NGR TG 2110 2697, and several linear features.
These are likley to be elements of several phases of field boundaries.
A trackway and linears appear to define several rectilinear enclosures, which form part of the clearest field system.
To the north of these there are two other sets of parallel linears. The narrowest of these is likely to also be a trackway.

Fragmentary linear ditch features (see above) of an uncertain date are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). It is possible that the features may have related to a series of possible boundary ditches, field boundaries, trackways and enclosures. It is likely that the features related to multiple phases. Due to the fragmentary nature of the ditches, it is difficult to accurately assign phases to the features. A dense area of geological cropmarks can be seen across the area and its possible that some of the features may be natural in origin.
