Summary
In 1976 a cable trench was dug behind the city wall from near Bethel Street to Rowntree's factory along the side of the pavement. This trench failed to uncover any finds or features of archaeological interest.

Full Description
1976. Cable trench dug behind city wall from near Bethel Street to Rowntree's factory along the side of the pavement.
No finds. No sign in the section of J. G. Hurst's dark occupation layer from Barn Road excavations (151N).
