Summary

Metal-detecting between 2001 and 2018 and fieldwalking in 2004 recovered prehistoric struck flint including Neolithic and late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age flint scrapers and a Late Neolithic/Bronze Age notched tool; Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons and Early Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Early Saxon sleeve clasp; a Middle/Late Saxon strap-end; Late Saxon brooches, a bridle bit and an unusual buckle; a Late Saxon/medieval buckle; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories, weights, finger-rings, furniture fittings and strap fittings; a medieval thimble and swivel from a leash; medieval/post-medieval purse bar or arm and a post-medieval coin weight, rowel spur, harness mount and candlestick.
