Full Description
1948. RAF air photography.
A number of banks are visible as earthworks and soilmarks at TF 6414 2717, on the Babingley River.
The site is on the line of the coast up to the 18th century in an area called 'Rising Haven' on a 1588 estate map.
These features may then represent attempts to improve the haven by building breakwaters (they may be sea defences but this seems less likely) and so are likely to be post medieval.
A. Miller (Suffolk County Council NMP), 11 July 2000.
