Map

1948 and 1967. RAF and Ordnance Survey air photography.
A possible saltern of unknown date is visible as an earthwork and soilmark on aerial photographs of 1948 and 1967. It may be a natural feature. at TF 6578 2617, west of Babingley.
The mound appears to have been quarried on its northwest side, and there are possible indications of the site of the saltcote at TF 6578 2617.
The mound appears to have been incorporated into the flood defences at least twice (the saltern may have still functioned at these times).
