Map

1944 & 1967. RAF and Ordnance Survey air photography.
A probable saltern of medieval, or possibly Saxon, date is visible as an earthwork at TF 6443 2585.
The mound may be of Saxon date as it is incorporated into a sea bank (NHER 36918) which probably pre-dates 1588, and seems to have been part of a second apparent sea bank, with presumaby medieval ridge and furrow behind.
A. Miller (Suffolk County Council NMP), 4 July 2000.
