Full Description
1944 & 1967. RAF and Ordnance Survey air photography.
A possible medieval saltern is visible as an earthwork and soilmark at TF 6420 2586, northwest of North Wootton.
If this is a saltern, it is one of a large number in this area.
The mound was also apparently incorporated into a later sea defence with lengths of bank on its east and west side.
