Summary

Aerial photographs taken in 1948 and 1967 show the earthwork of a probable medieval saltern mound and a possibly associated pond to its west. The mound is one of a large number in the area.

A probable medieval saltern is visible as an earthwork and soilmark at TF 6339 2602, northwest of North Wootton.
An apparent pond is visible just to the west and may well be associated with the saltern.
The mound is one of a large group in this area.
